I just got a Bachelors degree in Ornamental Horticulture. I want to draw landscape designs for a living. I love plants of all kinds and I want to make the world a bit more beautiful one yard at a time.
African Daisy (Osteospermum hybrida) is an annual flower that comes in many different colors and textures. They ray flowers and disk flowers are usually different colors in these. They are originally from South Africa. They are typically propagated from cuttings and seed, however for best results grow from root cuttings, using a rooting hormone (usually called Auxin) along with bottom heat. They can tolerate the heat, but during the hottest times of the summer there will not be any many blooms. Cut plants back lightly when flowering stops during the heat of summer to get new blooms when the nights get cooler. Common pests are aphids use dish soap to get rid of these pests. I put a little dish soap with water in a spray bottle and spray the plants. This method is safer for the environment than pesticides and it is just as effective.
